Cats and Ladies, Ladies and Cats.  One in the same aren't they?  Here's two snotty examples now:

What mischief are they up to?

Masked Ball

Hi hi!
I was talking to one of my sisters about Eyes Wide Shut and how much I love that movie, next thing you know, I was making this loosely inspired painting:

For sale in the Etsy site.  Also, I'm working on making an Etsy button so it will be very easy to get to it from here. More to come!

Etsy shop!

I opened my Etsy shop today.  You'll find artwork and my comic books there.  Here's a new watercolor (now available for sale) to celebrate!

"To boldly go..."

All original watercolor artwork will be available there. Notice, these are NOT prints.  Although I do plan on doing prints soon, for the time being you can own an original work of art!  I'll keep more coming.

Cold Night

Walking down the street in her tiny heels...

Clack clack clack clack

More B & W's

More ladies with lots of back story!

May have made an appearance in a George Michael music vid.

These gals are super weird, I'm sure of it.

Cheeky lady...

Slave to Love

Painted this one last night while listening to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds album, Let Love In.

Some Recent B & W

I was doing these portraits of women.  Each one has a little story behind it, but it's also fun to come up with your own.  When I draw or paint, I can't help but hear a little story in my mind.  Most times just one sentence is on repeat while I paint/draw.  I'm kind of a numbskull.

More of these to come...

Zap Zap!

Well, we're off for the weekend (Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day).  Definitely plan on doing a lot of drawing and reading, so I'll post when I get back.

Meanwhile:

Some weirdo space gals to look at!
See ya!

Artwork from Brazilianoir

From our comicbook, Brazilianoir:

Adieu

Lioness in her den

It was a first for me using black and white this way.  I do not usually block out with black like this, hard to get the hang of it at first, but then it feels quite good.

I Capture the Scenes from I Capture Castle

Ok, so I recently started reading the book I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith.  It's one of those books I've been told to read for a very long time and I am finally getting to it.  You should read it if you have not.  Anyway, it's got great imagery and I am trying to get some of the images from my mind down on paper.  Here's the first I did:

It's OK.  It could use some more time and a better angle.  I will post more.

Watercoloring!

I've been using the tube type watercolors for awhile now, but recently was drawn to the ease of use of the plain ol' dry type watercolors.  I bought some "grown up" ones the other day and I am loving them so much.  Here's some of what I've been doing with them:

Came out very faint, but I like that effect...

I loved the lady on the right, the lady on the left is trying hard to stay upright, methinks...

Some sweet islander lady

I'm liking the "barely there" look of the paint washes, but I am also going to try and make some darker ones; easier to see.

Colored Pencil Sketches

It's really fun to just mess around with colored pencils.  I kinda just grab the color that's enticing me most and go from there.

Robots are ladies too

Funky tea time

This girl's got big ol' mams

Sometimes I'm into big, thick eyebrows, sometimes none at all.

I'll keep doing some colored pencils and post. Sorry about some of the awful scan jobs.  My last sketchbook was bound, my new one's spiral so the scans will be easier.
See ya!

Some Old Sketchies

I'm in the process of going back through my old sketchbooks and scanning stuff.  I thought this was a good time as I just finished filling a sketchbook.

I did a lot of this stuff.  I had a very old pen nib that was really skritchy.

How many drawings of space girls have I done...

Swirly haired girls

I used to have a lot of free time at work...

And I would doodle in Paint.  Here's a small assortment of gals.

Pearls + pink tights = Classy

Not the same gal as above.

One of my favorite things to draw, harem gals.

Saucy ol' redhead

I also really, genuinely love the Paint program.  I think it has some great capabilities.  Besides, one doesn't need a manual to master it. More of these to come...
