Maiko
Hi there! I was really enjoying the way the Chinese headdress painting came out, looking to other ethnic headdresses for inspiration, I thought of Japanese Geishas. The hair pieces they wear are extremely elaborate works of art. This painting is of a Maiko, the apprentice of a Geisha. They have wilder hair pieces and more flamboyant robes.

they just keep wow-ing me!! so stunningly beautiful.
ReplyDeletei like that your work could just pop up in a graphic novel or comic book. all of the girls have that "feel" to them. it surely is what you were meant to do. is that making sense?? love them.
